Welcome to the Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford, MD for the 2024 Spring Invitational Regatta. We are situated on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland, racing on the Tred Avon and Choptank Rivers.  We welcome the Comet (Sat only), Penguin (Sat only), Sonar (Fri-Sat) and 2.4mR (Fri, Sat, Sun) classes to race over the 26-28 April weekend. 

Oxford Day is April 27.  Please be aware the main drag, Morris St, through Oxford to the club, will be closed on Saturday, April 27 from 1015-1200   You must be at the club before 1000 on Saturday, otherwise the traffic will back up. The only other way to the club, will be taking the ferry from Bellevue ferry dock, or come by boat.   


Preview of the TAYC Sonars will be available on Thursday all day and Friday am. TAYC will launch their Sonars on Thursday late afternoon, docked at the club's docks, and haul them on Sunday.  There will be a Continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings for all competitors, as well as light hors d'oeuvres at Saturday and Sunday's awards. The cash bar is open all weekend.

 

The 2.4mR's and Sonars are racing on Friday followed by our weekly Ales and Tales Pub-style dinner on Friday evening.  Entry fees for the 2.4mR and Sonar include dinner tickets for Ales and Tales Friday Pub dinner, 1x for 2.4mR, and 3x for Sonar crew.  Additional tickets are available for anyone at entry checkout or at the club.  

 

Racing starts again Saturday with Penguins, Comets, Sonars(separate course), and 2.4mR classes, followed by light hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, and Awards for the Penguins, Comets, and Sonars. The bar is always open, but there is no food service at the club after racing Saturday.  The 2.4mR class and friends will be getting together offsite.

 

The 2.4mR and Sonar classes will finish the weekend's racing on Sunday with awards, light hors d'oeuves, and a cash bar after racing.

We have blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Easton, MD - about 15 minutes away, for any out-of-town sailors. There are other hotels and B&B's in the area, but the HIE above has offered us a better rate.

We are limited in membership housing billets, so please include in your entry or call Andrew Parish for details.  

 

We are offering storage for any traveling boats, specifically the 2.4mR class, before or after the regatta.   Drop your boats on the way north from Florida, and we will find parking for them, BUT please two weeks ADVANCED NOTICE is required for storage.  For further information please contact Andrew Parish

 

Please be advised, that the speed limit in Oxford begins a mile out of town and it is strictly enforced at 25MPH. The Chief of Police would like to meet you, but not with a ticket for you!
