We are grateful to be hosting this in club regatta for our Dinghy Fleet. Please follow the guidelines below as this will allow us to remain operational and host future events. If you have been exposed to COVID or get a alert please self repost to the sailing Department so we can take appropriate actions for the event.

  • There are some critical differences between this regatta and regular RVYC regattas and it is most important that you are aware of these differences:
  • This regatta is open to RVYC member / Race Team dinghies only.
  • Registration is strictly on-line using Clubspot. All boats must be registered by 2359h on Thursday, September 24th in order to compete. There is no late registration.
  • All Sailors MUST check in online EACH MORNING as per the Notice of Race
  • The decision to race each day should reflect your ability to sail in the conditions expected. This is not the time to sail for the first time in conditions well above your skill level
  • There is a RVYC Regatta Racing Statement of Risk uploaded to the Clubspot website which must be read and agreed to in order to compete.
  • Due to recent Air quality issues The Race Officer will review atmospheric conditions on each day of the race and has the authority to cancel competition if the air quality 7 or greater on the Environment Canada air quality scale (1-10)
  • There are protocols that must be followed while at the club. They are:
    • Drop off should be done in the upper parking lot. Only athletes should proceed to the vessels at designated time to minimize interactions on the docks.
      • Optis between 830 and 930 for your 1100 start time on Saturday
      • Senior classes 1030-1130 for your 1200 star time on Saturday

      • Opti between 930 and 1030 for your 1100 start time on Sunday
    • Vessels should be kept physically distanced as laid out on the dock. Please respectfully maintain spaces. If you have a dolly, consider putting your vessel on the lawn to maximize space on the docks, prior to the event.
    • Participants should arrive, rig, launch and head to the start area for their designated time. Good practice is to arrive early and warm up and put in practice your prerace routines
    • Masks are strongly encouraged while rigging
    • Change rooms are not available; change by your boat or arrive changed
    • All water and food must be kept with the sailor for the day’s events
    • Hand wash stations are provided please use them when entering the dock areas and when leaving the dock areas
    • No congregating, maintain social distance while waiting if necessary. If the docks are occupied by other fleets due to postponement wait on the lawn area
    • After sailing derig and clear the dock space immediately.
    • Gathering at the club is not encouraged as this adds pressure on normal operations of the weekend
    • The food service is operational please do not congregate on the deck at anytime. There is no food service associated with the event beyond what is offered by the club's normal food service for the day. All food service rules are in effect and applied equally to participants and regular members.
