Welcome to Larchmont Yacht Club for the 2023 Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound’s Optimist Championship Regatta! Our club management team and members are looking forward to a fun weekend of competitive racing and great hospitality. Please read the information in this packet regarding our event including schedule, contacts and trailer storage.

Registration:
Please register your sailor in the Junior Club House starting at 5:00pm on Friday and continuing on Saturday at 7:45am. Once you are registered you will be assigned a launch location with your team and can bring your dolly there. You will also be given a JSA Optimist Safety Inspection Checklist (attached to the Race Docs on Club Spot) which your sailor will need to complete and have signed by your coach and returned to the registration desk. Once we receive your signed JSA Optimist Safety Inspection Checklist then your sailor will receive streamers. Your sailor should check with their coach to make sure that they know their assigned group.
Coach Boat launch schedule and info:
Due to tides, LYC boat ramp will not be available. Use ramp at Glen Island Park. For LYC cranes, coachboats must be equipped to lift from a single point. LYC does not provide lifting bridles, straps, spreader bars, etc.

Dining Information:
Larchmont Yacht Club will provide competitors and coaches breakfast and post-racing food on Saturday and Sunday. More food options are available at the pool grill and inside the clubhouse. A credit card will be required for bar and kitchen purchases and you are kindly requested to close out your card at the end of each day.
Saturday Evening:
Larchmont Yacht Club is hosting an adult-only party with a Bruce Springsteen Cover Band “Tramps Like Us” in the Pando at 8:00pm on Saturday August 5. You are welcome to join without your children.

Parking and Trailer Storage:
Trailers can be stored for the weekend in our parking lot. If you are arriving with a trailer, please enter and exit through the gate on Monroe Avenue. To store your trailer please seek assistance from a parking volunteer. Please note that car parking is for members only. Optis should be brought by dolly to the lawn by the junior clubhouse. Once your sailor has registered, they will be told where to put their boat.
