General Meeting Announcement

Where: Southwestern Yacht Club

The February 2023 AMSS General Meeting will be a double feature. First up, will be the unveiling of the new AMSS Website by Danielle Richards. Second up, will be a showing of “The Restoration of Skookum III” video by Mark Albertazzi. Mark will be on hand to answer questions about the video as will owner Perc Jones no doubt be able to share some stories about the restoration!

The Restoration of Skookum III is a documentary covering the history of one of the remaining Classic wooden schooners on America’s West Coast. Skookum III was designed by S.S. Crocker and built by Britt Brothers in 1935 for Boston Yachtsman, Mr. James Dean. A number of years later in 1987 Perc Jones stumbled on her in Florida as she was on the verge of being cut up and brought her to San Diego to begin a 15-year pursuit to win the America’s Schooner Cup!
