URGENT - Goolwa Windsurfer Classic 2025 - Change of Venue

Hello All,

I am sure you are as excited about the 2025 Goolwa Windsurfer Classic as I am.

If you registered for last year's regatta, you will recall that the event was postponed until this year, due to potentially dangerous levels of blue-green algae.

Well, unfortunately, we have seen the return of the algae just this week. At levels already higher than the peak of last year. 

SA Health advises people to avoid swimming, diving, or other activities that might involve accidental ingestion of water from the Goolwa Channel. The full SA Health warning can be found here.

As you can imagine, this leaves us in quite a predicament; however, the amazingly supportive race committee of Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club has stepped in to save the day. 

As such, we are still able to run the event; however, we will need to relocate the regatta to Brighton/Seacliff.

I completely understand that this may have ramifications for those of us that have booked accommodation in Goolwa, which is why we wanted to give as much notice as possible.

I can assure you that we will have a great time at BSYC; however, I understand if you are not willing or able to join us at the new location. If you would like to withdraw your entry and request a refund, please email windsurfer.regatta.team@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for your understanding and appreciation that dangerous algal blooms are something that is unfortunately out of our hands.

It's back on! The Windsurfer Goolwa Classic is back after a year off due to algae.

The dates for the racing are the 17th and 18th of May, 2025.

If you entered for 2024 and did not request a refund, you are automatically entered into the 2025 regatta.

OH NO - Goolwa Classic has been postponed again on Health Department advice

SA Health is continuing to advise against contact with the water at Goolwa due to harmful levels of toxic blue/green algae. 

As such, in conjunction with the GRYC, we have decided to postpone the 2024 Goolwa Windsurfer Classic from the weekend of May 18 to the same weekend in 2025...17 and 18

We hope you still plan on attending, your rego will rollover.

Road Trip...

It's back.

Join in the fun at Goolwa, the iconic venue at the mouth of the mighty Murray.

Its all about a cruisy weekend of relaxed course racing and a tour of the local sights in the Marathon.

And Saturday night look out - Pratty's Party is back - included in the entry fee and sure to be a big one.
