Registration is now open!
March 3, 2026
All vessels need to have the following documents and information uploaded to ClubSpot ASAP (we recognize rating certificates are just being generated and there are still some Safety at Sea courses to be completed):
1) Valid 2026 ORC or PHRF certificate
2) Copy of Required Safety at Sea Certificates: Mandatory for two or more and strongly recommended that at least 50% of the crew including the Skipper have this certification. There are multiple spaces to upload up to 6 certificates.
3) A signed Attestation document by the Person in Charge for compliance with the safety requirements in ER 1.5 or 1.6 as applicable.
4) Shore Contact name and phone number
5) MMSI number for Entrance Island and Sisters Islet courses
6) Boat Name. (Yes. We need the name of your boat and Skipper)
Please ensure this information is uploaded to Clubspot as soon as possible. This will help you and our volunteers out greatly come check in time on Thursday, April 2nd. All of this information needs to be provided in order to be checked in and to race. Sooner is smoother!
January 1st, 2026
Similar to 2025, we are offering four course options to accommodate a broader range of sailors and boats with differing interests and experience levels including:
A 100 NM Sister’s Islets Course for the ORC fleet which is one of the qualifying races for the 2027 Van Isle 360 International Yacht Race and 2026 Pac Cup Race;
a 55 NM Entrance Island Course for PHRF divisions;
a 36 NM Halibut Bank Course for PHRF divisions which will also include Double Handed scoring and awards, OSR Category 4 safety regulations, and a Friday sunset time limit;
Inshore ‘around the cans’ day race for the Melges 24, VX Ones, and those keelboats looking for a great day race and the traditional finish at Point Atkinson Lighthouse;
A ‘Virtual’ Finish Line at the entrance to English Bay for the three Distance courses using Yellow Brick Tracker functionality to eliminate the challenges of finishing in the wind shadow of Point Atkinson;
Ability to use shortened course rounding times in the event of a light air event using Yellow Bricker Tracker functionality to capture rounding times.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 56th annual Southern Straits Race scheduled for April 3 - 5, 2026.
