Lake Eustis Sailing Club invites you to the
Central Florida Lake Regatta
Oct 24 & 25th, 2020

Lake Eustis Sailing Club is located about 40 miles north west of Orlando at 1310 CR 452, Eustis, FL 32726  [Mailing address: P.O. Box 1056, Eustis, FL 32727]

Entries and Eligibility:
This event is open to all classes of sailing vessel of 25 feet or less with a valid Portsmouth Handicap. 

Rules:
The races will be governed by the rules defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing and the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions which take precedence in the case of a conflict. (This changes RRS 63.7).  At least 1 Race shall be completed to constitute a Regatta.

5 or more boats of the same boat shall be scored in their own Class (see also Trophies) – all others shall be scored in one or more Portsmouth Class(es). 

Changes to the Sailing Instructions will be signaled by Signal Flag “L” at the Official Notice Board and a horn.

Registration:
COMPETITOR REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT MUST BE DONE ONLINE: NO ONSITE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.  Registration $25 per Boat. 

Scoring:
The Low Point System will apply- except if fewer than 5 races are completed a boats score will the total of all her race scores (this changes RRS A2)

VHF Radios and Recalls:
VHF radio (Channel 72) will be the primary means used by the Race Committee (RC) for communicating with the fleet about activity on the course e.g., Competitor Briefing, delays, recalls, weather issues, etc. For recalls, following the display of the Individual Recall flag, the RC will attempt to announce by VHF radio the sail numbers of all boats identified as being OCS. (This changes RRS 29.1).  Such announcement is a courtesy and failure of the RC to make the announcement, or of a boat not to hear or understand it shall not constitute grounds for redress.

Trophies:

The following prizes will be awarded for the following numbers of Boats registered in each Class by 10/17/2020:

           5-8 boats – 1^st, 2^nd place
           9-13 boats 1^st - 3^rd place
           14 + boats  1^st – 5^th place.     

Camping and Lodging:

Camping is permitted on the grounds of the Club to the north of the Clubhouse.  In addition, the City of Eustis zoning regulations permit up to eight RVs up to 30 ft. in length to be on the premises for the duration of the regatta.  Please declare your intention to camp or bring an RV in the comment section of the registration form.

COVID RESTRICTIONS 

1. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS MANDATORY.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED WHILE ON THE DOCK, IN CLUBHOUSE OR OTHER COVERED AREA WHERE SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NOT POSSIBLE.
2. ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO “SELF-SHELTER” (i.e. Cars, RVs, etc.) ON-PREMISES IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER. SHELTER IS POSSIBLE IN CLUBHOUSE BUT MAY BE INSUFFICIENT FOR CONDITIONS.
3. ALL COMPETITORS AND VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW CURRENT CDC GUIDELINES AND CURRENT LOCAL AND STATE REGULATIONS
