Notice of Race:
1. Rules
1.1. The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). Appendix S will
apply. RRS 61 is changed to require a competitor to inform the race committee’s
finish boat of his intention to protest, including the sail number of the protested boat,
immediately after finishing. RRS 63.7 is replaced with: “If there is a conflict between a
rule in the notice of race and one in the sailing instructions, the sailing instructions
shall apply.”
2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1 The Series is open to all eligible MC-Scows and Sailors
3. Fees
3.1 Fee schedule as provided on The Club Spot
4. Schedule
4.1 Series shall be a weekly series beginning on 06-22-23 and continuing for 10 weeks
4.1 The first signal shall be at 6:30 pm local time. The race committee reserves the right to move the signal time up as the season progresses. This will be communicated electronically and on the notice board at the club spot.
5. Races
5.1 Four (4) races are planned for each evening. Racing will typically continue until 30 minutes before sunset.
6. Venue
6.1 The Venue will consist of two racing areas, the Kettle Creek racing area, and the Green Island Course.
7. Sailing Instructions
7.1 Sailing Instructions will be available upon Request.
8. Courses
8.1 Courses will Be Windward-Leeward type courses with the number of legs to be sailed indicated by the signal boat.
9. Scoring
9.1 The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply. A drop will be added after every 5th race.
10. Support Boats
10.1 There will be one or two support ribs available each race night.
11. Responsibility for Safety
11.1 . Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in
Ironman Regatta are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to
Race. The organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host
club, sponsors, and any other organization or official) will not be responsible for
damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death,
sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each
competitor agrees to release the race officers from any and all liability associated with
such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
