Some Logistics Information on the Fast Mermaid Regatta:

• Purpose:
  • This is a fundraising regatta for Lindsay Smith, who is a local sailor and domestic violence survivor.
    • All net proceeds go to the "Fast Mermaid Fund", set up for Lindsay to help with costs her benefits do not cover.
• Scratch Sheet:
  • The Fast Mermaid Regatta Principal Race Officer (PRO) will be sending out the Scratch Sheet in electronic form Sunday morning 
    • to allow for any late entries.  
    • The scratch sheet will identify the starting time for each boat, in hours/minutes/seconds. 
    • Paper copies will be available at the BYC Front Desk before the race by 9:30am.
    • First gun is 1200hrs.
    • There is no Skippers Meeting.
    • Bruce Durkee is returning as the Official Photographer of the Fast Mermaid Regatta, thank you Bruce! 
• Prizes:
  • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each division, SPIN & JAM & Spirit Award.
    • If 3 or more boats enter in a One Design fleet (Etchells, Rhodes 19), a first place trophy will be awarded. 
      • Local Rumson's Rum are the prizes - thank you Eric Glass of Rumson's for your donation and Jay Pingree of Marblehead Graphics for the engraving!
• Party:
  • On shore festivities at the BYC, immediately following the regatta (approximately 3:30pm): 
    • The entry fee of $100 includes 2 food tickets and 2 Rumson's/Fast Mermaid hats, if registered before 12:00pm on 7/15. 
      • Food will be Hot Dogs, BYC Chowder, and Cookies. 
  • Additional tickets can be paid for $30 apiece during registration checkout. 
    • For each additional food ticket purchased, $10 goes directly to the "Fast Mermaid Fund".    
    • Early entry:  Only Boats registered as of 7/15 by 12:00PM will get 2 food tickets, 2 Rumson's Fast Mermaid Hats, and can order extra food tickets.
    • The gazebo will be open for Food Service and drinks.

  • Cash donations are gratefully accepted, checks can be made out to the "Fast Mermaid Fund" C/O New Wave Yachts 69 Front Street Marblehead MA 01945
• Not Sailing but want to join the fun? 
  • Food Tickets can be purchased up until 7/15 12:00PM via eventbrite.
    • $30 per ticket, Lindsay will receive $10 for every food ticket purchased.  
• Wear Pink for the mermaid!
