2025 - ILCA No Coast Championships + Richardson Regatta @ RLWYC

The Royal Lake of the Woods Yacht Club (RLWYC) is proud to host the 2025 ILCA No Coast Championships, taking place July 26–27 alongside the annual Richardson Regatta. Competitors will be captivated by the stunning beauty of Lake of the Woods, a natural gem that spans the Canada-U.S. border, stretches over 70 miles, and is home to more than 14,000 islands. The northern part of the lake rests on the Canadian Shield, offering breathtaking vistas, pristine freshwater, and a premier venue for sailors to test their skills.

Established in 1903, RLWYC boasts a rich sailing heritage. Scow racing, a cornerstone of the club's history since the 1920s, remains an active tradition, with up to 20 scows competing every Sunday in July and August. Over the years, RLWYC has hosted several prominent sailing events, including the Canadian Women’s Laser Championships, the Canadian Opti Championships, and, most recently, the 2019 Laser Masters Canadian Championships.

Located on an island, RLWYC offers a stunning clubhouse, ample space for rigging, and convenient proximity to the racecourse. Event organizers will ensure seamless transportation for competitors and their boats between the mainland and the club.

Another cherished RLWYC tradition is billeting with local members and cabin owners, offering competitors a unique and welcoming experience. For those interested, the Accommodation Chair can assist with arrangements.

This two-day regatta (one day of optional training camp on the friday before, and two days of racing) promises exceptional racing, camaraderie, and an unforgettable experience. Make sure to include this event in your 2025 racing schedule—you won’t regret it!

Fees include lunch on both days, BBQ on both days, special guest speakers, and swag!

Making this regatta extra special, 2025 is the 100th anniversary of the RLWYC gaining is Royal Assent.
