SDYC Juniors ILCA & C420 Clinic with Coach Parker Shinn

Join us for a weekend of training for intermediate and advanced racers in the ILCA6 and C420 fleets with Coach Parker Shinn. This two-day format will allow sailors to train in both fleets, with ILCA6s on Saturday and C420s on Sunday. These full-day clinics will give sailors the opportunity to have a long practice on the ocean and an extended classroom debrief.  

Daily Schedule:

• 0900 Arrive and Rig
• 0945 Chalk-Talk in the Jessop Classroom
• 1030 Launch and tow to the ocean
• 1530 Return to SDYC and derig
• 1700 Dismissal

ILCA6 Clinic – Saturday, September 6^th

This clinic is geared towards sailors who will be preparing for the PCISA Cressy Qualifier at CBYC on September 27^th & 28^th and sailors who will be competing in the 2025-26 SCYYRA Ullman/Frost Series.

• Entry Fee: $75 SDYC Members / $85 Non-Members

C420 Clinic – Sunday, September 7^th

This clinic is geared towards Race Team sailors who are planning to compete in the SCYYRA Perry Series #1 & C420 PCCs at CBYC on September 13^th & 14^th. Sailors are encouraged to register with the partner that they are intending to sail with during the Perry Regatta.

• Entry Fee per boat: $100 SDYC Members (C420 Charter Included) / $115 Non-Members (BYO Boat) / $165 Non-Members (with C420 Charter)

Parker Shinn is the High School National Championship record holder with 7 titles. Since then, he has focused on racing 505's, a high performance double handed dinghy. In 2019 Parker placed 3rd at the 505 World Championship in Fremantle Australia. When not racing himself, Parker loves to coach and spent 4 years working with the SFYC Laser and 420 teams. He currently coaches with the PLHS Sailing Team, supporting the team through their recent wins at the ISSA Fleet and Team Race National Championships in 2025.
