Watch Hill Yacht Club RWB FLEET Regatta

Hello Junior Sailors!

We are happy to announce that the WHYC will, once again, be hosting our Annual Opti Regatta.

This year, in efforts of making the event a safe arena for sailing, we have made a few modifications, but maintained most of the traditional elements of a WHYC Regatta: Tshirts, Fun Races, and Trophies honoring each competiting Fleet. 

The WHYC Opti Regatta will be entirely on-water! We will have two different start times (one for Green Fleet and one for RWB Fleet), as well as modified the length of racing. Please see the outline below for full event details as well as in your fleet's respective Sailing Instructions. Please be sure to download and read over the SI in their entirety, to ensure full comprehension of the event. RWB FLEET SCHEDULE:

1:00- 1:15AM

On-water check in to Race Committee WATCH DOG

Visiting Coaches: please confirm all sailors’ sail numbers during this window.

Visiting Coaches: please pick up their team’s Regatta T-shirts during this window.

1:30PM

First Race shall commence at this time.

Postponements will be made known from Race Committee.

One race shall constitute a regatta.

4:30PM

No race shall begin after this time.

Sailors are to derig/meet at their respective coach boats to wait for on-water awards.

5:00PM

On-water Awards Ceremony off WATCH DOG

Trophies will be given out honoring: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.

Trophies will be delivered to your coach boat. 

Please note: 

At this time, the WHYC is maintaining this event as an “on-water” regatta only. The 

WHYC and WHYC dock will remain closed during the time of the regatta, except for 

emergency usage (ie bathroom, etc). Rigging and derigging will need to be executed on-

water, with their designated coach boat or spectator boat. If you cannot travel by water to
