SCIRA membership for crews is optional but only teams where skipper and crew are SCIRA members PRIOR to the start of the event will be eligible to qualify for the Western Hemisphere & Asia Championships. This membership will be retroactively verified at the time of team selection, so make sure your crew is a SCIRA member BEFORE the regatta if you intend to try and qualify.
