La Playa Spring Series #1

These FREE one-day Sabot events are are our most casual regattas; perfect for both new racers and veterarns looking for more practice. Simply sign-up online; then arrive at the Club around 1000 to prepare for the first start at 1200 (noon). Fleets and venues will be finalized based on attendance and conditions; with A/B/C1 typically racing on Shelter Island Shoal, just beyond the Harbor Police dock, with C2/C3 racing in La Playa cove, adjacent to the Club. We typically sail five races for the afternoon, and are usually all wrapped up to leave around 4pm.

These events are open to all Junior Sabot racers. Non-SDYC racers in C2 and C3 fleets should be accompanied by a supporting coach.

During the Summer Program, La Playa Series race days occur on Wed afternoons, as the scheduled daily activity for Racing Sabot Fleets sailors. No daily schedule alterations are needed.

All La Playa Series event results, plus our flagship Junior Invitational Regatta in Sept, count toward 2020 La Playa Series High Point standings.
