2023 Al Morris Regatta Registration is LIVE!!!

Yale Lake, Cougar, WA - August 5th -August 6th, 2023

Rules

The regatta will be governed by the 2021-2024 ISAF Racing Rules, Sailing Instruction and/or rules set at the skipper’s meeting.

Boat Launch

Yale Park Boat Launch or Beaver Bay Campground Boat Launch - Adjacent to the overnight boat storage lot.

Eligible Classes

Sailing Dinghy and Catamaran classes.  Three boats per class will need to be registered by July 5th to be awarded prizes. 

 

Racing

The competitors’ meeting will be at the Cougar Park Group campground at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Aug 5th.  First Warning will be at 12 Noon. 

Sunday’s 1st Warning will be at 10 AM.  We are planning on sailing as many races as possible. One race will constitute a regatta. There will be no races starting after 3 pm on Sunday.  The official notice board and protest location are at the Cougar Park Group campground. 

 

Registration Details:

Single-hand Registration - $95 – Includes 1 Saturday dinner, 1 Car, & Camping  

Double-hand Registration - $190 – Includes 2 Saturday dinners, 1 Car, & Camping

Triple-hand Registration - $285– Includes 3 Saturday dinners, 1 Car, & Camping

Additional dinners - $35 each, for Saturday’s dinner

Breakfast will be available Saturday and Sunday mornings - $10 each (CASH only please)  

Parking - Each boat registered gets 1 free parking pass.  Extra parking passes are $5/day/vehicle. Please prepay on the Clubspot and show your receipt to the WSC rep at the campsite to get your pass. 

Al Morris is priced to be a cost-breakeven event.

 

Alcohol-Free Venue

Beaver Bay and Cougar Park Campsites, as well as the main Yale Lake Boat Launch, are all other PacificCorp properties at Yale Lake are alcohol-free. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages at the park is prohibited.

 

Food

Saturday dinner will be catered. Please bring your own plates and utensils.  

Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be provided by head chef Mike Van Kirk and crew of volunteers to help set up, cook, and clean-up.   Please bring your own plates and utensils.  

 

Schedule

Friday, August 4th.

Cougar Park Group Camp is reserved for Al Morris sailors. So come on up and enjoy. Check-in is at 2:00 PM or later. 

Main entry gates will close at 10:00 PM so don’t be late.

 

Saturday, August 5th

Breakfast served at Cougar Park Group campsite.

Competitors meeting 10:00 AM at Cougar Park Group campsite.

First Warning – 12 noon

Dinner – 6pm (or soon after racing ) – at the Cougar Park Group campground

 

Sunday, August 6th

Breakfast served at Cougar Park Group campsite.

First Warning – 10am

No races will be started after 3pm. There is no limit on the number of races.

Awards and farewell location will be announced at the event. 

Camping overnight on Sunday is included.

 

Monday, August 7th

 

Checkout from campsite by 11 a.m

 

Parking

One parking pass is included per boat registration. Extra cars are $5/da. Pre-pay in Clubspot if possible. Show the WSC camp representative your receipt to get your passes.

All boats will be kept overnight at the Beaver Bay campground at the ramp parking and maybe at the main Yale Lake Public Boat Launch. 

 

Camping

We have reserved the Cougar Park Group campsite for Friday through Sunday night. This is included in the price of the registration fee.  Please note, the Cougar Park Group campsite is a tents only site.  RV’s and trailers will have to make their own arrangements.

You can also leave your tent up Sunday morning until after racing on Sunday.
