Beginner’s Racing Seminar #3 - Learn to Race and Crew your Boat!
We are starting a new year of racing at Ventura Yacht Club and on the heels of a very successful 2024 racing season. Ventura Harbor Wet Wednesdays saw a big increase in participation from the C-Class, non-spinnaker cruisers, and family boats. We want to continue an opportunity for learning with another of our very successful seminars. In this seminar, we’ll cover Racing Rules of Sailing for 2025-2028, recap last year’s seminar, and go over what has changed in the latest version of the rules. Also, we will talk about basic tactics upwind and downwind.

This seminar is open to anyone: captain or crew, club member, non-member, experienced sailor or novice who would be interested in a beginning course in sailboat racing. It will focus on preparing for our Ventura Harbor Wet Wednesday racing series and our returning Blue Water Series. Our trainers/teachers are experienced West Coast award-winning sailors right here at VYC.
