Welcome to the 2021 USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival - Lake Erie!  

Welcome to one of only a few JO Skill Builder Clinics in the country for junior sailors and coaches. Featuring Opti, Laser, and c420 fleets.

Get up close and personal with professional coaches who will give you tips and tricks to improve your sailing skills over 2 1/2 days on land and on the water before and after racing.

Coaches Nick Turney of Turney Sailing, and Cornell University Sailing coaches Brian Clancy and Dan Thompson will be leading the clinics and debriefs.

Registration is $125 per sailor (late fee of $30 per sailor after July 5 at Midnight).

NOTE: 420 Teams: 420 skippers must register before the crew and pay for the boat at time of registration. The Sunday Regatta counts as Travelers Series #6.

Sailors: Full Registration Fee Includes ALL of the following:

• Friday and Saturday Clinics with Elite Coaches on and off the water. Includes Saturday Power Talks where you get up close with the coaches! Also hear all about college sailing and understanding weather.

• Official JO T-Shirt - long-sleeved, tech fabric.

• Awesome Food! Join us for a Friday night pizza party on the pool deck, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday, and ice cream treats after sailing.

• Entertainment! Enjoy the MHYC's beautiful pool after racing, music on the patio after racing on Saturday,  Beach Toys on the MHYC West Beach including Hobies, O'pen Bics and RS demos provided by MHYC and Sailing Inc. Enjoy the annual Saturday Night Beach Bonfire party with s'mores along with a "Celestial Night" looking at the stars with a local expert!

• Swag! The first 120 registrants receive fun JO sunglasses, sailing stickers and more! 

• Raffle prizes! Raffle prizes will be drawn at the awards ceremony on Sunday.

If you ONLY want to participate in the Regatta, you may do so. Please enter "REGATTA ONLY" for laser/Opti and REGATTA ONLY 420 for 420 skipper/crew as the discount code.

If you will be participating in the Traveler Series 6 on Sunday only, you may order a t-shirt ahead of time for $30. 

Coach Registration Details

• Fine-tune your instruction skills, bring new ideas back to your race team or sail camp.
• During the clinic days, work with the elite sailing coaches and see how they help junior sailors on and off the water.
• Participate in daily debriefs and Saturday Power Talks.

With a coach wristband, you will receive the following:

• Elite Coaching to improve your coaching skills
• Dinner Debrief on Friday night, specifically geared for our sailing coaches and instructors with our Elite coaches.

• Sweet Official JO T-Shirt in tech fabric. 

• Awesome Food! Enjoy our Friday night pizza party on the pool deck, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

• Coach Clinic Registration is $90 (Includes Food + T-Shirt)

Please note: It is not required for your team's coach to register for the Coaching Skill-Builder Clinic but it's a great resume builder and experience!

Each team is required to supply a safety boat with a supervising adult or coach on the water each day, and a "shore adult" in case of emergency.

Families/Use of MHYC Property and Grounds

MHYC invites all families to enjoy the West Beach and our swimming pool during the JO weekend Camping IS allowed on West Beach, with prior permission and adult supervision. Contact kathyallyn@gmail.com with requests ASAP.

Check your club reciprocity and bring your Club Card if you want to use it at the restaurant/bar or Gas Dock.
Otherwise, you are welcome to set up a Guest Account with us for the weekend using a credit card.

If you plan to eat dinner at the club, due to increased membership, we REQUIRE reservations NO LATER than July 6 for lunch and dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 7/9-11.

You may also pre-order additional t-shirts during registration for $30. (Regatta-only sailors should pre-order t-shirts if they want one!)
