2025 Ventura Harbor Wet Wednesday Series

These mid-week summer evening races are scheduled for Wednesdays between April 2 and September 10.

After each race there will be a dinner and trophy presentation at Ventura Yacht Club at which all skippers, crew, and guests are welcome.

Total of 21 races i Below is the schedule of races. please note that the first two Wednesdays are not part of the complete series and there is no entry fee for them. 

• Schedule of Races – Total of 21 races starting on April 16^th – September 10^th
  • The start for the first class is scheduled for 1800.The start signal is scheduled for 1800 [6pm] each Wednesday. 1755 Warning Signal.
  • Wednesday, April 2^nd – Skipper’s Meeting at 18:00 and Pizza night with safety presentation.
  • Wednesday, April 9^th – Starting Mania – one hour of starting and then back to the club for dinner.
  • Wednesday, April 16^th – MOB (Man Over Board) Night included in a typical WW racing – Instructions MOB drill in Sis.
  • Wednesday, July 30^th –  No racing – VYC Catalina Cruise
  • Wednesday, September 17^th – Dinner and Awards evening (no racing)

• Eligibility and Entry
  • ALL SAILORS ARE WELCOME – Neither PHRF membership nor yacht club membership is required.
  • Racing is open to all boats with a LOA of 18 feet or more, are self-righting, and that are eligible to be rated under PHRF or ORCA.
  • Entering boats must be seaworthy and capable of returning to their berth without the assistance of other competitors or Harbor Patrol/USCG. This requirement is specifically applicable to periods of reduced visibility, lack of wind, or any other weather event.
  • PHRF Area A windward/leeward (W/L) handicaps will be used.
  • Boats without a valid rating will be assigned a rating for this series.

  • Entry fees are: 1) $200 for the entire series; 2) $20 per race.
  • Boats must be insured with valid third-party liability insurance that provides for a minimum coverage of $300,000 per incident.
