Hello everyone,

We are gearing up for another Frostbiting season at Huguenot Yacht Club and you are invited to join us!  So here's a brief description about what we do and a link to the registration page.  Those who have been with us before, thanks for coming back.  We have grown because of you!  Those who have heard about us and think this is the year to join in, welcome!  

What we do: We race ILCA / Lasers Standard Size, Radial, and 4.7s.

 

When we do it: Pretty much every Sunday from early November to early April. 

 

Who we are: Some young and some perpetually young.  Some new to racing Lasers, some constantly updating their skills.  Some quite fast already, some still dialing it in.  And we are all good people!  Competitive with and supportive of one another.

 

When to sign up:  NOW!!!  Like in Yesterday type of Now!  Because Huguenot Yacht Club is dredging its marina this year, we have a limited number of spaces on the dock.  Signing up soon means you're sure to get a spot. This season we will be keeping our boats at Glen Island Yacht Club, just a few steps away.

 
Racing Lasers or ILCA sailing dinghies, we race up to 6 races most Sundays over two seasons - a Fall/Winter Series and a Winter/Spring Series - sandwiched between a Halloween Practice Day and something of a distance race - the Execution Rocks Race Out and Return (E.R.R.O.R) - which all adds up to around 22 days of racing from late Fall to early Spring; all in a fairly protected bay of Long Island Sound; all managed by a PRO and Race Committee and supported by a couple of whalers and ribcraft if you get into trouble.  And all this happens . 

At Huguenot Yacht Club, where there are docks for your boat, a clubhouse to change in, a restaurant and bar and outdoor porch in or on which to eat and drink and generally chat it up after the races.  And your registration means you are a Winter Member, which means you have an account that all your drinks and food go on and that you have all the other privileges that membership provides.
