Welcome to the 2025 West Vancouver Yacht Club - Royal Naval Sailing Association - Nanaimo Yacht Club Singlehand/Doublehand Regatta
This is a VARC event.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN MAY 1ST, 2025.
The Regatta will be held on May 31st + June 1st, 2025.
Please read through the notes.
THANK YOU for your participation and see you at the start line on Saturday, May 31st.
Notes:
1. One dinner is included with registration for single handed ($150+ 5% GST = $157.50), two for double handed ($200 + 5% GST= $210). Sunday morning breakfast and lunch take out is available as extra items, and is not included in the race registration fee. Deadline for registration is Monday, May 26th, 2025. Note: registration fees are based on a cost recovery basis and definitely the food costs have skyrocketed. ***Deadline for registration is Monday, May 26th, 2025. Early registration is appreciated as moorage needs to be arranged.
2. Moorage at Nanaimo Yacht Club is included for Saturday night for each boat and we will endeavor to accomodate but please register early to allow time to allocate slips!
3. Out of town racers only: please make sure to enter in your registration if your boat requires moorage at WVYC the night before the start, or if you require moorage after the race, and we will endeavor to secure - no guarantees but please register early.
4. ***PHRF RATING MUST BE 2025. You must upload your PHRF certificate in your registration.
5. New this year's registration:
Tracker software, that should be implemented onto your mobile phone, tested and in use for the entire regatta.
The Event Rules (incorporating the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions).
6. Please upload a photo of your boat (optional). Very helpful for moorage staff and Race Committee. May possibly be used for media.
7. Start groupings will be by PHRF only - singlehand and doublehand boats together.
8. The RNSA Regatta Awards night will be held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club, 5854 Marine Drive in West Vancouver BC, on Tuesday, October 28th, 7 p.m.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION CATEGORIES: Novice, Old Salt, Ancient Mariner
NOVICE: If this is the FIRST time the SKIPPER is doing the race
OLD SALT: AGE 65-74
ANCIENT MARINER: AGE 75+
TEAMS: Minimum 3 Singlehand boats from same yacht club, for trophy. The names of the boats must be delared 72 hours prior to the start of the regatta, in your registration. Doublehand Team honorable mention (possibility of new trophy)

From Regatta Chair:
- Send me an email if you change any of your registration data prior to the closing of the registration. Unfortunately, the software makes it extremely difficult to track changes. You get bonus appreciation from me if you actually put the change in the email subject.
- Moorage assignments will be sent to you sometime in the week prior to the race by the Operations Manager at Nanaimo Yacht Club for the Saturday night. Email:operationsmanager@nanaimoyc.ca
- Please email WVYC Rear Commodore, Nancy Hoyem, for those that request pre race and/or post race moorage at WVYC. Note that every effort will be made to accomodate all vessels in secure moorage, however moorage is limited and therefore not guaranteed. Please monitor your emails and check spam folers as necessary. RearCommodore@WVYC.ca
- Doublehand registration - many of you have not completed the registration - **Please add crew member name and emergency contact information. Do this by clicking on the +Sailor tab. We require this information for the safety tracking.
4. A gentle and friendly reminder to read the Event Rules (ER), know the start sequence, monitor VHF 68.
- Please bring cash to the NYC dinner for the 50:50 draw.
