Welcome to the 2024 West Vancouver Yacht Club - Royal Naval Sailing Association - Nanaimo Yacht Club Singlehand/Doublehand Regatta

The Regatta will be held on June 1-2, 2024. This will be the 50th anniversary of this remarkable event, and a commorative engraved bosun's call will be given to each skipper. In addition a special pin has been commissioned for this occasion, with a design by celebrated marine artist and Order of BC recipient, Captain John Horton.
Pacific Yachting Magazine will be joining us for the event!

Notes:
1. One dinner is included with registration for single handed ($135 + 5% GST = $141.75), two for double handed ($180 + 5% GST= $189). Sunday morning breakfast and lunch take out is available as extra items, and is not included in the race registration fee. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 29th 2024, 11p.m. Note: registration fees are based on a cost recovery basis and definitely the food costs have skyrocketed. ***Deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 29th 2300 PDT.
2. Moorage at Nanaimo Yacht Club is included for Saturday night for each boat and we will endeavor to accomodate but please register early to allow time to allocate slips!
3. Out of town racers only: please make sure to enter in your registration if your boat requires moorage at WVYC the night before the start, or if you require moorage after the race.
4. ***PHRF RATING MUST BE 2024. New this year: you must upload your PHRF certificate in your registration.
5. New this year's registration: please upload a photo of your boat (optional). Very helpful for moorage staff and Race Committee. May possibly be used for media.
6. NEW this year: start groupings will be by PHRF only - singlehand and doublehand boats together.
7. The RNSA Regatta Awards night will be held on October 29th, 2024 1900 hours at West Vancouver Yacht Club, 5854 Marine Drive in West Vancouver BC.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION CATEGORIES: Novice, Old Salt, Ancient Mariner
NOVICE: If this is the FIRST time the SKIPPER is doing the race
OLD SALT: AGE 65-74
ANCIENT MARINER: AGE 75+
TEAMS: Minimum 3 Singlehand boats from same yacht club, for trophy. The names of the boats must be delared 72 hours prior to the start of the regatta, in your registration. Doublehand Team honorable mention (possibility of new trophy)

From Regatta Chair:
- Send me an email if you change any of your registration data prior to the closing of the registration eg. predicted elapsed time of your crossing etc. Unfortunately, the software makes it extremely difficult for me to keep track of changes. You get bonus appreciation from me if you actually put the change in the email subject.
- Moorage assignments will be sent to you sometime in the week prior to the race: Rusty, the Operations Manager at Nanaimo Yacht Club for the Saturday night. WVYC Rear Commodore, Jack O'Hara, for those that requested pre race and/or post race moorage at WVYC. Please check your spam folder and monitor your emails.

- Doublehand registration - many of you have not completed the registration - **Please add crew member name and emergency contact information. Do this by clicking on the +Sailor tab. We require this information for the safety tracking.
4. A gentle and friendly reminder to read the Sailing Instructions when they come out, know the start sequence, monitor VHF 68 and observe SI rule 6.4. Just saying.
- Bring cash to the NYC dinner for the 50:50 draw.
