PITCH is an annual regatta held on Labor Day weekend on Bellingham Bay and has been a part of the Pacific Northwest racing scene for more than 30 years. The regatta is a Grand Prix qualifier and also one of the 48 Degrees North Top 25 Boats of Puget Sound events. The event draws boats from all over the Pacific Northwest including Canada.

2020 PITCH IS AN "ON-THE-WATER" EVENT ONLY

Due to the COVID-19 Physical Distancing & Social Gathering Restrictions, all PITCH shore side, social & Clubhouse events have been cancelled by the BYC Board of Trustees.  Additionally, the BYC Bar & Lounge will be closed during 2020 PITCH.  Dinning service is available at Local Marina Restaurant - Reservations are recommended. Only PITCH Check-In/Registration Desk open on Friday 4 PM - 8 PM & Saturday morning 8 AM - 10 AM and Masks are Required.   The Friday 730 PM PITCH Skippers Meeting will be held outside from the BYC Clubhouse's Deck and on a ZOOM Meeting.  Face Coverings are required.  PITCH Registrations is limited to 25 boats (Subject to change depending on social distancing restrictions).   There will be no Awards Ceremony.  Results will be posted on event website and awards will be mailed.

A greeting boat will be on station on Friday Sept 4 from 3 PM to 7PM to assist with moorage instructions. If no boat is available, hail the BYC PITCH Welcoming Team on VHF channel 72, or contact Mick Corcoran 360-319-5448

2020 BYC PITCH & COVID-19:

• PITCH Skippers/Owners shall be responsible for ensuring that their crew, while on their private boats, adhere to all COVID-19 social distancing & gathering restrictions issued by Washington State, Whatcom County & City of Bellingham in effect on the days of the event, up to including requiring crew to wear masks.
• While in the Marina & Docks, in addition to any restrictions issued to state and local governments, PITCH Skippers & Crew shall adhere to all COVID-19 social distancing and gathering restrictions established by the Port of Bellingham in effect on the days of the event.
• Skippers  & Crew shall wear face coverings & use appropriate social distancing when interacting  with BYC PITCH Regatta Committee & Race Management (i.e. check-in, skipper meeting & protest hearings).
