2025 Truancy-Simmons Trophy

Thanks for your interest in the first annual Truancy-Simmons Trophy.

This regatta aims to promote camaraderie among the women of Narragansett Bay, create the opportunity to improve the racing skills of women at individual NBYA clubs and organizations, and build a home for competitive racing while honoring the memory of Cynthia Simmons. Cynthia loved the time she spent sailing and racing and wanted other women to enjoy the fun of competing with other women and honing their skills and competitiveness. Accordingly, we are establishing the Truancy Simmons Perpetual Trophy to be awarded each year to the winning team and invite you to compete and to be our guests at the party and awards dinner.

This regatta will be raced in J22s and/or Cape Cod Mercuries at the Bristol Yacht Club. This is a “collegiate style” format event. Each team shall have two (2) separate skippers and crew who sail in the “A” or “B” divisions. No crew shall sail in both divisions (unless approved by the race committee).

                                      No warning will be signaled after 1400
